Repeat Updates:
The ICO Monthly River Mtg will be held at 410 China Basin St, San Francisco on Wednesday April 1, 2015. For people unfamiliar with the area, there is free parking at the facility, we are a short walk from Caltrain, the Muni Mission Rock Station is half a block away, and for all of you with those fancy electric cars, there are plug in stations.
The SOPs REVISIONS are moving forward. Ryan and his team are working diligently to meet the May deadline of a rough draft. If you have any questions about the goal/intent of the revisions, please contact Kate Starr. A rough draft should be ready for the May or June River Mtg.
The ORGANIZATIONAL RESTRUCTURE, a task intended to better organize how off-river volunteerism is structured, is underway. A rough draft will be presented at the April River Mtg. Roles for each group will be outlined. Input is encouraged and welcome!
Ross Garner is working with PEAK ADVENTURES to develop a fantastic training on group cohesion and safety that will culminate with a fun ropes course. The training is on Sunday May 3, 2015. You can sign up on the trip list , it should be posted within a week or so. Ross will be sending an e-mail with more information and details. THANK YOU ROSS.
SWIFTWATER RESCUE is being offered w/ Julie Munger combined with the Healing waters group. It is being held on May 2-3, 2015. Please contact Brian O’Neil for further information on how to sign up for that training. THANK YOU BRIAN.
SPRING RIVER TRIPS: There are 3 spring river trips to break off the winter rust, provide some space for additional training to volunteers, and provide a fun group bonding experience. These trips are set up to be fun, yet educational. Does this sound too much like PBS? 2 trips are on the SFA to work on individual skills, 1 is on the Rogue to allow people to see a new river and learn more about expedition trips. ALL THREE OF THE TRIPS ARE SET UP FOR PEOPLE TO RECONNECT WITH THE ICORAFTING COMMUNITY. If you have been away from the group for a while and want to get back into the swing of ICO , these trips are for you. If you have boated every weekend this winter, these trips are for you. Please go online and sign up for these trips if you are interested. If you have any questions, please contact the respective trip leaders.
CPR/FIRST AID: if you need to get re-certified in either Basic First Aid or CPR, Mel and Sascha will be holding a class Saturday April 4th at 85 Second St San Francisco, Sierra Club HQ. Please sign up for the class if you need recertification. This is a great deal folks. Details:
CPR 9-noon
First Aide 1-5
$15 for one class; $25 for both
