Hazards: Nothing unusual Weather: Sunny and warm On the flow was which was ideal. We did and took boats. Hazards: Weather: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comments: This was a new group. It was actually 4 different Girl Scout troops put together on the trip, with a wide age range (13-17) and outdoor experience. As per Girl Scouts requirement, we wore helmets. We camped at The Nugget, and ran Chili Bar both days. There were two involuntary swims. One swim was in a particularly undesirable location, but was otherwise uneventful. There were no injuries. On Sunday we picked up 2 distraught boaters. At lunch at Second Threat we found two people, Sonya and Scott, on a one-boat IK trip. They had taken several swims and Sonya was very shaken up. We invited them to join us. Sonya rode in the oar frame and Scott, who has hard-shell kayak experience, continued in the IK by himself. In retrospect, we should have given them a more thorough first aid examination before continuing on. Fortunately neither Sonya nor Scott had any injuries that presented themselves by takeout at Henningsen. Overall the trip went very well. Camaraderie was good, the food was fine for a new group, and the logistics went smoothly. Special thanks to Margery for being my last-minute emergency paper-Trip-Leader!
